Wall PlaquesI recently went to an art exhibition in the centre of Manchester at a lovely art gallery. I really enjoyed all the paintings that were on show but one of the things that really struck me about the gallery were the quality of the
Wall Plaques that explained the paintings. Usually, in my experience,
Wall Plaques are very basic and do nothing to detract from the painting they are cataloguing. They are merely a utilitarian object. However, these
Wall Plaques seemed to me to be very different. The material they were made from was really good quality and the writing on them was absolutely beautiful. These luxurious touches were evident throughout the gallery which really seemed to take its responsibility as a shrine to art seriously. The building was light and airy and, in itself, seemed to be a work of art. The design of the space really made me feel instantly calm in a way that I have never known before just by entering a building. I think that the person who designed the gallery has obviously put a great deal of thought into it and really deserves an award for the space they have created.
